Nasty weather is nasty whether you're dressed appropriately or not

If "nasty weather" means "freezing cold but clear skies and sunny"
like most of this week, that's frankly nonsense.

. The other
problem is that you're wrapped up like a bear to keep out the cold then you
get on a packed train with the heating on the supernova setting and you
roast. Or end up carrying a coat and jumper. Either way its a pain.

Not really.

Nothing beats trainers for comfort. Thats why you don't see athletes running
in "practical shoes".

This might be true, but a good pair of shoes is perfectly comfortable
for a half hour's walk.
