How much of this still exists in some form? I believe the 405 to
Redhill and the 409 to East Grinstead as they are now were once part
of it, but what else is there?
Here's an interesting question: How far is it possible to go in any
one direction using only local bus services?
By this, I mean taking a bus to one point and then transferring to the
next regional operator and so forth.
I don't mean coaches or anything of that nature, but using local
buses, the types of which we might see in London.
I think when the free bus passes for pensioners were introduced someone
went all the way from Lands End to John O'Groats by bus for free.
