There's another way of looking at this. Take the coach from the central
bus station to Watford Junction (one station out of London for the Chester
trains) then take the train to Chester. How well the journey would wok is
going to depend on the time of the day. For a start, the coach needs to
circumnavigate London on a road which can become very congested during peak
hours and I'm not sure how many direct trains there are or if a change of
train would be required and what the issues with such a change would be.
