Default Get that bus out, Butler!

I've been watching On The Buses on ITV3. Very funny in a nostalgic
sort of way.

The main problem for me comes when Reg Varney arrives back in the
garage and is berated bt Stephen Lewis for being "late again. You're
late again, Butler! I'm gonna report you this time. You'll get the
sack this time, Butler!!"

I know that the writers, Ronalds Chesney & Wolfe, had a weird problem.

Being late has never been a problem for any bus driver.

But being early IS a problem.

But how could Blakie have said, "You're EARLY again, Butler!"

How would the viewers have comprehended the idea of someone being
sacked for being early?
