Bielefeld is the seat of an association called FOEBUD where a better
system of email and netnews had been developed (ZCONNECT), better e.g.
in the encoding of time and date as a standard-string like
20101015-1251 instead of the Date header in RFC-email and news, which
is geared towards the human user. Length of the body given in number
of characters instead of number of lines, which makes the dot-line at
the end superflouus. And many other things.

When some people wanted to pick up the oldfashioned US-american
developed, and quite primitive protocols coming out of the ARPA-net
(because they were already installed on their UNIX-boxes), Bielefeld
had to vanish from the planet Earth.

Ah, well i suppose most of us had already assumed Willms was one of THEM.
