"There is direct access from there to six new TV studios, suspended on
enormous steel springs, designed to counteract vibrations caused by the
Jubilee Line."
I know the Jubilee Line passes beneath Park Square, but surely only the
Bakerloo and Victoria Lines go near enough Broadcasting House to
vibrate it?
Baker St to Bond St goes nowhere near Portland Square.
True, since Portland Square is in Wapping.
Basil actually mentioned Park Square, which is at the northern end of
Portland Place. If you don't believe that the Jubilee goes anywhere
near Park Square,
Much confusion here... the new BBC building is east of the old one at
the southern end of Portland Place. Over half a mile away from Park
Square.
ask the Journey Planner for a journey from St Johns Wood to Marylebone
via Waterloo, use a View button to look at one of the offered journeys
and click on one of the map icons (not the PDF ones). You'll see that
the Jubilee runs close to the Bakerloo for most of the way from
Marylebone to Regent's Park.
Agreed, the Jubilee is shown much further east than I expected, but the
new BH extension is just by the kink in Portland Place immediately north
of Mortimer Street. The Jubilee is shown some five blocks to the west of
there.
