incidentally, Clapton Pond has now got water in it once again, presumably
due to the rain and stuff. it's been cordoned off until it can be made
safely empty once again. also, i think the Murder Mile is the Upper
Clapton Road, not the bit by the pond.
i'd been thinking about doing a photo-micro-travelogue of the
Lea-Hertford-Union-Regents river/canal system, since i cycle along it to
work (sometimes) and have got to know it fairly well. there are all sorts
of things to see, and it's interesting to see it change from the bushes
and mud of the Lea navigation (especially the ****ing Hackney Cut - how
much would some tarmac cost, you *******s?) to the well-kept concrete of
the Regents canal.
there's also some political graffiti about the place that needs
collecting. is anyone working on this? i remember a post a while back.
