Default Heathrow to western GWML link under consideration

Often wondered why the original Thameslink route had to be Bedford to
Brighton. It has so many conflicting junctions and difficult paths.
I realise these are now being resolved and Thameslink is so much more.

I think there had been a long term desire to upgrade the Brighton Line
service to London Bridge, but there was no spare rolling stock available.
Thameslink resolved this with brand new trains that the commuters hated from
the start (they still do), and released some units for the newly electrified
East Grinstead line.
