Default Repeated traffic light failure

Catholic schools are a special case. Few are any closer than that to the
majority of their pupils.

As it happens, the nearest secondary school to where I was formerly
living in Nottingham was a Catholic one, but the next nearest was
probably some way away.

As a transport issue, the county consulted on (I don't recall the
result) withdrawing school travel subsidy from those children who chose
to travel more than 3 miles to a faith school, when there was a regular
school close by.
