Worry about that when it arises; in general there are later trains,
the 2317 or 2349 Wimbledon - Sutton, plus going via tram to Mitcham
Junction is a possibility (at risk of ticketing complications).


SWT should have told him about those options, surely?


Is there any suggestion they didn't? Plus the screens would presumably
show it if he was actually at the station.

Note the issue was "last connecting train" cancelled, not "last train".
So the official answer is probably to get the next train and then
non-rail transport from Sutton, not a taxi all the way from Wimbledon.
