I'm trying to compile a list of interesting things to go see on the
"tube" on a day trip. Engineering mainly, like the crossover at the end
of the Oxford St Bakerloo, the scale of Canary Wharf and the tunnel out
of Bank-DLR. What others can the team suggest?

Snip

Memorial plaques at Balham, Bethnal Green, Bounds Green (WW2) & Kings
Cross (the fire).

To see the one at Bethnal Green, take the Roman Road exit (on the left
as you exit the gates.

Also, the memorial at Baker Street with the old shell-case used for
charity collections.

Disused Wood Lane station platform northbound between Shepherd's Bush
& White City.

I like seeing the lights at the Old Ford fan shaft and the rush of air
that rattles the doors when you pass it between Stratford and Mile End
westbound.

I'd add the underground garden at Stepney Green (near headwall of the
eastbound platform) which a supervisor there told me is going to be
remodelled soon..
There's a rather nice tiled sign on the stairs there too.
