Service restored at 14:59. I can only assume that a serious crime was
committed at Westbourne Park during the night, and that the police
needed to collect forensic evidence on or near the tracks. Over 9 hours
seems excessive, though.
About normal when it involves suspending the railway. If it's on a highway
and the victim isn't a police officer it's normally shorter for some strange
reason.
Presumably there were enough trains berthed in
stabling sidings such as Edgware Road to run the service on the rest of
the line.
Several trains start from Barking, Farringdon and Triangle (Earl's Court)
sidings to enable a full circle line and limited service to Whitechapel.
There was also a signal failure on the District and person ill on a train at
Liverpool Street. Glad I'm on leave!
