MP promotes bikes and trains
By Tracey Treanor
HARROW East MP, Tony McNulty, attended the Connections awards ceremony this
week in his capacity as Minister of State for Transport. Connections promotes
the integration of bicycles and rail travel to allow travellers to both cycle
and use the train on long journeys. Mr McNulty presented awards for Station of
the Year (Waverley Station, Edinburgh), Best On-Train Experience (Merseyrail)
and Best Customer Service (GNER) among others. He said:" Bike and rail is often
a practical option which enables travellers to leave the car at home."

I used the Willesden Junc to Clapham Junc train yesterday and I
couldn't believe how many people where waiting for the train. There
was even one guy waiting with a bike. I chose a different set of doors
to board by but I wondered which 3 people were going to volunteer to
stay behind so he could get his bike on.
