Dead Oyster cards

By this time the card came back to life and they refused to change the
card on the basis that it was now working. This morning I found the
card has stopped working again so hopefully it will remain dead until I
can get the card replaced.
My pre-pay card had been playing up for a while so I just took it to a
ticket window, the clerk had trouble getting it to work too (although
managed to verify its contents) and replaced it on the spot. I filled in
a form (although having to give a password/identity which I hadn't
originally had to do) and was away in 5 minutes all done and dusted. (I
hadn't let it die, though, which I guess made a bit of a difference as
the clerk was able to see how much needed to be transferred.)
