Is it just me or does it seem like someone at the top of TfL has it in for
the Borough of Bromley?
The Tube stops as New Cross, the Tram stops at Elmers End/Beckenham Junction
and the 726 coach is now to finish in Croydon. The Bromley North branch lost
its through trains years ago and Thameslink services to Sevenoaks are now a
distant memory.
I recall that the Fares Fair campaign started in Bromley - is this someone's
revenge?
"Fares Fair" was Ken Livingstone's attempt to cut Tube prices by 50%
during the last years of the GLC, and it was the ratepayers (I think it
was in those days) of Bromley, not being on the Tube, who objected to
subsidising ratepayers in those boroughs who were. And took the GLC to
court and won their case. And now who is mayor of London and heading up
TfL???? So you could well be right, but I couldn't possibly comment.
