Is it just me or does it seem like someone at the top of TfL has it in for

I doubt it. I think the London Borough of Bromley is rather more keen on
car based transport than public transport if the truth be told.

The Tube stops as New Cross, the Tram stops at Elmers End/Beckenham Junction
and the 726 coach is now to finish in Croydon. The Bromley North branch lost
its through trains years ago and Thameslink services to Sevenoaks are now a
distant memory.

Well TfL and the Mayor have nothing to do with Bromley North trains or
Sevenoaks being served by Thameslink. I agree the 726 decision is silly
but TfL seem to be on a mission to kill the route completely. As for
Tramlink I can't see Bromley ever supporting a campaign that might
damage main line commuter services, might demolish properties or shock,
horror put trams down roads to the detriment of cars. If a council is
not fighting its corner then it will lose out in the wider scheme of
things given scarce resources.

I recall that the Fares Fair campaign started in Bromley - is this someone's
revenge?

Bromley is a pretty well off sort of place and parts of the Borough are
fairly rural / lightly populated so it's perhaps understandable that you
don't have buses running at 5 minute headways.

If you think you are badly off in terms of public transport - especially
buses then simply compare and contrast the service levels and fares and
network coverage with those "over the border" in Kent. I think you might
then realise you are not so badly off after all. I somehow imagine the
Mayor has more important things to do politically than trying to snub
for the London Borough of Bromley for past court cases.
