Surely both are possible? As the tunnels are halfway to Camberwell
already, it makes sense to go there, so you could have Elephant -
Walworth - Camberwell - Denmark Hill - Peckham Rye - Nunhead - Brockley
- Lewisham, then all stations to Hayes.
