Default Golders Green

At the *exit* of the bus station is a set of traffic lights. There are your
normal three-colour jobbies facing up and down North End Road and into the
bus station. There are also single red lights either side of the exit,
facing *out* of the bus station. They don't seem to light up, and
there's no
reason why they would, since no vehicle would ever see them. Does anyone
know why they are there?

I can't remember the exact path National Express coaches take at Golders
Green, but they certainly go in the opposite direction to TfL buses
inside the station parallel to North End Road. Perhaps it's something to
do with them.
