What HAS happened to "Steam on the Met"?

Have I just missed it the last few years, or has it slunk off?

Steam on the Met was last held in May 2000, being suspended after that
in preparation for the introduction of the PPP.

Having said that, LU's Safety Case (not currently available on the TfL
website, as it's being superseded) *did* allow for the operation of
"heritage" main line and underground stock and, indeed, the Traffic
Circular mentions a 10kph (sic) speed limit for steam locos over a
bridge near Wembley Park.

Steam on the Met (or any other line) was not suspended for PPP reasons.
Sure there was a huge debate about it but it was decided to reserve the
right to run heritage trains on the LU network. The main reason given
about a reluctance to run *steam* trains was the fact that the smoke and
ash caused complaints from the public, and trackside fires that
disrupted services and resulted in the fire brigade being called out.
That's certainly what I recall from the debates we had about it and the
policy papers that were put forward.
