Anyone know / got times of what Sarah Siddons is doing on the
Met.Line
this Sunday?

Full timings on the home page of www.therailwaycentre.comscroll down

to latest news.

To celebrate the return to traffic and handover to London Underground
of
locomotive Sarah Siddons following refurbishment by Metronet Rail the
1921-built Metropolitan Railway locomotive will power a special
round-trip
to Amersham, departing platform 1 at Harrow-on-the-Hill station at
12.00 on
Sunday, 10 June 2006. The stock used will be the former Southern Region
(BR)
4TC unit and diesel back up will be provided by Class 20 No. 20227.

On Wed she was in full view outside Ruislip depot with her coaches
and a fine sight that was.

I hope that LT start to do do silly things like the time a few years
back when she was in ordinary public service on a trip to Amersham
heritage day.

Good to see it mended again (and the 4TC unit) after several years
doing nothing. Will it have any shunting or engineering duties other
than the occasional special train? I recall during the 1970s & 1980s
it was always described as being retained as the 'brake block test
locomotive'. I used to wonder if that was some depot engineer's
wheeze to save it from scrap.

I've certainly seen her being used on the South Ealing - Acton Town
eastbound fast brake test track...
