Probably. KLM once (recently) put through a transaction I made on
their website with an incorrect expiry date! I was astonished when I
phoned up to check that they had accepted it, on the grounds that "all
the other details matched".


Now that I am surprised at. IME if you don't have the correct dates for
the card, then it's automatically a void transaction. Had you used that
exact card before with them, and so could they potentially (illegally?
DPA?) have dug up an old record to check?
