One of those secret military ones was an exit onto the M4 at what was
RAF Welford. This was used as a major bomb dump for the USAF until
relatively recently - there were notes of its use in Gulf War 1.
This was never marked on the local OS map, but it could be seen from the
air and presumably the junction with the M4 was obvious to drivers on
the motorway.
