Looking at this map, I can't help thinking that now is a good time to
rename Wandsworth Road station, especially since it will be on the tube
map but Wandsworth Town won't.
If I was a Victorian railway entrepreneur I might have called the
station North Clapham, but since a certain subterranean railway line has
used a similar name for their nearby station I'd suggest that using that
name would be a pretty bad idea!
No, it's okay, that station's 'Clapham North', implying it's the northern
station in Clapham; 'North Clapham' would be the main station in North
Clapham. It's like Leyonstone and Leyton Midland Road. No possibility for
confusion at all.
Or if you still don't like it, Clapham Norther? Clapham Arctic?
