Default Jubilee line - broken again

I finally wasn't in a hurry and got some time to read the poster - it
says that it will be closed until early 2009 (!) because of works to
build a new staircase for Stratford station. Not sure what that means,
but I'm sure that closing the footbridge just 1.6 months after opening
is a major **** up.

It's probably the new staircase and lift down to the subway, shown
here in pink:

Presumably they want to minimise the number of people on the platform
where the building work is.

I think the new DLR station was planned anyway (and ran quite late)
while the subway works are Olympics-related, which accounts for the
poor timing.
