There's a village called Wivenhoe, in the depths of Essex. It's,
well, mostly harmless, really.

So why is there a street called Wivenhoe Court in Hounslow?

Why shouldn't there be?

I'm not saying there shouldn't. But things don't happen without
reasons. Except in quantum mechanics and the civil service.

And why is there another one in Frome, Somerset?

There's also a Wivenhoe Close in Peckham.

THE MYSTERY DEEPENS!

A MYSTERY!

I don't see any mystery. If there was no street in London with
Wivenhoe in the name, that would be more of a mystery.

You think? Are there streets named after all of England's umpty
hojillion villages in London?

Probably not, but there's probably several streets named after each coastal
town.
