Includes:

"As part of the introduction of Oyster Pay As You Go (PAYG) onto National
Rail,
there will be a number of changes to fares within London, including:
Cheaper peak time journeys
Many fares frozen at 2009 levels, including travelcards, season tickets as
well
as standard class single and day return tickets.
Off peak return tickets withdrawn and replaced by Oyster PAYG off-peak fares
Change to the times when off peak fares are available in the London area"

Which all seems to match what has been gleaned so far from other sources.

Unfortunately it seems there are also to be new afternoon Super Off Peak
restrictions:

"In line with the Oyster PAYG off-peak fares, there will be a change to the
times when South West Trains' Super Off Peak `turn up and go' ticket is
valid
for journeys from London"

So presumably no travel from 1600 - 1900 for Super Off Peak ticket
holders? This seems a bit odd if it applies to people travelling to
destinations beyond the Travelcard zonal area. I wonder what "London"
means in this context - Waterloo and Vauxhall or any SWT run station
in the zonal area? I can perhaps see a reason for alignment with
Oyster conditions where Oyster fares apply. Looks like another way
of shoving people's fares up while all the while proclaiming they are
falling.

Can't disagree, but it comes as no surprise, given that they'll have watched
nearly every TOC (other than those in the former Southern Region) introduce
evening restrictions over the years. If it is only the Super Offpeak, it
still won't be as restricted as most north of the river franchises form what
I read...

Recent headlines suggest LM are introducing afternoon peak restrictions in
the Birmingham area as well, it was bound to happen AFAICT, once XC made the
move a while back.

My theory is that ATOC have a system whereby each TOC takes a turn at
introducing an unpopular fares change, then after 6 months or a year of
drawing the flak from the media on their own, everyone else makes the same
changes...
