Can't load a Network SouthEast card, hence the exception.

Whyever not?

Perhaps it's because the Network Card £13.00 minimum weekday fare, and the
'after 1000' rule mean it isn't any use for 5 days out of 7...

Friends and Family doesn't appear in the list either. Somebody suggested it
was because it has to allow for groups of adults and the compulsory
accompanying children.

The Network Card also has group and children validity, but its use by an
individual should be programmable for weekend use only.

Also, a NSE card if loaded on Oyster can't then be read by NSE ticket
offices outside the zonal area. To provide both a paper & Oyster NSE
discount card would leave it open to fraud, with both usable
simultaneously by different people....there's no photocard needed!

Can you put a Senior Railcard onto an Oyster card? I'm almost certain
those don't require photocards either.

Mine doesn't have a photocard. I didn't even get it from a railway outlet.

is actually rather misleading on this point? It's title is
"Oyster rail services in London" yet Hayes to Heathrow is shown in
exactly the same style as Paddington to Hayes. Likewise the line
style doesn't change at Hayes so a quick glance suggests Oyster
will be valid to Slough; yes, there is a note saying it isn't but
the use of (say) a dotted or feint line would make this much
clearer.

As a brief point to this, they Paddington-Slough line would actually
need to change at West Drayton not at Hayes.

Oyster PAYG is available all the way to West Drayton. So if the map
was differentiating routes that can be used with Oyster the change
occurs at WD not at Hayes.

The change in question is on the line to Heathrow, which should perhaps
be dotted (or otherwise differentiated, in addition to the text box)
after the junction halfway between H&H and WD:

If for no other reason that it might alert the minister to the fact he's
making misleading statements about Oyster being available on ALL (his
emphasis) services on the map.

I thought there'd been mention of the appropriate discounted PAYG
fares being available to those with their Railcard loaded onto their
Oystercard?

I read somewhere that only certain railcards can be preloaded for
discounts - I'm pretty sure the Young Persons one was included. It
specifically excludes Network Gold Card holders which is basically
everyone with an annual Travelcard. For many journeys it will be
cheaper to get a paper ticket. How horrendous. It's enough of a pain
at the moment having to queue up for a ticket from the boundary of
Zone 2 say to your destination but now you'll need to work out whether
or not it will be financially worth your while! Surely the system
could check to see if you've got an annual Travelcard loaded on your
Oyster.

If from 2nd January suppose I board a 405 bus in Redhill just after
9am and use my PAYG Oyster to travel to Croydon, and onwards to
Victoria by tram and District Line. This means that the off-peak cap
would be applied?

However if I alighted at Coulsdon South to go to Victoria by train and
touched in at Coulsdon South before 9.30 would that change the cap to
a peak cap?
