Later this month I am flying to LHR from the US and my friend is
flying in from Saudi Arabia. Our planes are about an hour apart early morning arriving. We come in at terminals 2 and 3. Questions: Will be both go thru the same customs/immigration area? In any event where would be a good place to meet, especially where there is a place to sit down (the hips are not working like they use to). We intend to go to Russell Sq via the Piccadilly line. Also, should we be able to text anywhere in the airport - cell phone coverage? Thanks in advance |

No, not if you're coming in at different terminals. In any event where would be a good place to meet, especially where there is a place to sit down (the hips are not working like they use to). The arrival area at the terminal of whichever flight is scheduled to come in later. We intend to go to Russell Sq via the Piccadilly line. No, not if you're coming in at different terminals. Arrivals for T1 and T3 are probably separate. T4 and T5 are extremely separate! In any event where would be a good place to meet, especially where there is a place to sit down (the hips are not working like they use to). Terminal 2 is no longer in use so you'll have to re-define which terminals you are arriving at. If it's 1 and 3 then whoever gets there first can walk from one to the other. There is a clearly defined meeting area, or you can just wait at the end of the exit line - you'll see all the various taxi and limo drivers waiting there as well. If one of you is arriving at T4 or T5 then the other can take the Heathrow Express from one terminal to the other - it's free between terminals (just make sure you go in the right direction) We intend to go to Russell Sq via the Piccadilly line. A lower cost option, but it could take a long time and get uncomfortable if it's early morning. blatant plug Depending on the actual time, it may be worth considering taking a taxi when the 2 of you are together. The cost will be more than on the Heathrow Express plus taxi to final destination but could well be worth it to save the hassle you may get by other options, especially as you're gong in from a long distance If ever there are 3 ore more of you then the taxi is actually cheaper than taking the Heathrow Express. Also, should we be able to text anywhere in the airport - cell phone coverage?
