Yesterday - saw an article in the Metro or Evening Standard that the
NRM are to build a demo. track in Hyde Park for the Rocket replica and
coaches to run on for tourists. Can't find the article now - it was
probably a filler. Anyone got any further details. Thanks - CJB.

Anyay thanks again for the idea of selling photos on eBay - mine are
far better than the one linked to. Might make a bob or two.

I'm sorry you missed the point - yet again.

Thank goodness for Ctrl-K.

Bit lacking in details of exactly when it'll be happening though.
However I imagine it'll be very popular.

There wasn't a point. It was just a length of straight track.

:)

The author of that item seems to think that the May Bank Holiday precedes
the 'Easter holidays'.

The message
from Arthur Figgis contains these words:

The broad gauge Iron Duke replica was demonstrated in the same
location in 1985.

Indeed, I went to see that one.

Did you see the steam loco which ran somewhere near Euston Square?

He didn't catch that one...

It does. (see also "The war will be over by Christmas.")

Which particular day of operation of the pre-electrified Metropolitan
City Line had you mind ?

Or, indeed, post electrified as there were servcei kettles too until
1970.
