London Banter - Best ticket option?

zone two, crossing into no other zones!

If you can really keep your via Zone 1 trips to the volume you suggest
above then the cheaper option is Z23 Travelcard and then pay PAYG for
via or to Zone 1 as and when you go there. *If you can tolerate taking
the bus then you pay nothing extra, of course. *The differential between
Z123 and Z23 for a monthly is £43. * Looking at your extra trips I
reckon your PAYG to or via Z1 would only amount to £18 a month so you'd
be £25 ahead.

Agree - the first thing I thought of was that he wants a zones 2&3
Travelcard.

One question is whether Sir Ben makes his weekend trips to zone 3 via
zone 1 on just one day of the weekend or two?

Also how does he make those trips to zone 1 (whether going on to zone
3 or not) - via DLR/LU or does he go from Lewisham on NR to London
Bridge/ Charing X or wherever? When Sir makes his bi-monthly[*] trips
to zone 1 destinations

(The reason I ask the latter question is that the 'through' LU+NR PAYG
fare for zone 1 is £2.60 off-peak, whilst the LU/DLR fare is £1.80 -
it all adds up, though of course the off-peak zones 1&2 cap of £5.60
would be applicable as well.)
