Does anyone know or can explain how the DLR are involved here and whether this will involve any disruption or blockade to the DLR. The pair of lines heading down to the Crossrail portal will be between the up and down slow lines into Liverpool St, ie a grade separated junction (diveunder) and the new portal will be built between the two operational NR slow lines. So basically the DLR has to move well south to make room for the existing up slow track to be slewed to the south by something more than two track widths, that's assuming vertical walls to the cutting. I think a new DLR station is included as well, there is some detailed stuff about it on the Crossrail site, but unless you've got bags of time I wouldn't recommend trying to navigate your way round it, that site is absolutely useless IMHO... You would hope the new DLR track (or tracks?) will be completed first so that they can divert to the new route once and for all over a single fairly short possession... Paul S |
