Last year my bank account processed 125 payments by DD, that's about one every 3 days on average. Not having to handle those payments myself is definitely worth it to me, and I haven't had any problems with DD payments for years. What I object to is your assumption that I'm lazy or not sensible. Sounds like lazyness to me. But if you don't want control over how money leaves your bank account thats your choice. B2003 |

Anyway thats besides the point - getting money back when a direct debit has fouled up is a PITA. I've had to do it once. It took less than 5 minutes on the phone to my bank to sort out. So you said "I've had 100 quid taken out of my account by company xyz which they shouldn't have done, could i have it back please?" and your bank said "oh yes sir, no problem, there you go" ? Please tell me who this bank is because in my experience the onus is on you to sort it out with the company doing the DD first. B2003 |
