Indeed. On the odd occasions I've been walking around there late
at night or in the early hours of the morning, I've genuinely not
felt unsafe. Of course, that could just be good fortune on my
part. I'm not in that area late at night anywhere near often
enough for my experiences to be statistically significant...

Not just you, Roy. Roland is rather out of date, mercifully.

Of course, at least on some of those occasions when I might have been
walking around that area late at night, I dare say passers-by might have
regarded me as a "strange creature of the night" :-) I've certainly
been known to dress quite, erm, alternative, when going out clubbing...

But seriously, the area immediately around Kings Cross I don't have a
problem with. I get the impression some of the council estates off
Caledonian Road might be best avoided, though...

I should have made it clear I was talking abut the 1999-2003 time frame.
