![]() http://www.theoystercard.co.uk/main.php -- John Rowland - Spamtrapped Transport Plans for the London Area, updated 2001 http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Acro...69/tpftla.html A man's vehicle is a symbol of his manhood. That's why my vehicle's the Piccadilly Line - It's the size of a county and it comes every two and a half minutes |

One of the testers placed the card in a glove and waved his hand over the gate and walked through. Some american tourists apparently watched this, walked up to the gate, did the same and then crashed into the gate paddles. I once hid a card in a book and thumped the book on the target and walked through - caused some double takes :-) One of the best ways of using a contactless card was by an old Chinese lady in the new territories in Hong Kong. She just put her handbag up against the reader, beep went her handbag and off she went. -- Paul C Admits to working for London Underground! |

![]() "John Rowland" wrote in message ... http://www.theoystercard.co.uk/main.php Me and a mate were tempted to try the oyster sandwich idea for a joke photo/video - luckily I didnt do it because prepay doesnt work yet and the gate rejected the card... It's amazing how few notices actually tell you that prepay wont work until the 4th... -- TC |

One of the testers placed the card in a glove and waved his hand over the gate and walked through. I've done the glove idea several times. It's a larf. Some american tourists apparently watched this, walked up to the gate, did the same and then crashed into the gate paddles. I've seen so many people try this with normal tickets. They see someone with an oystercard use the reader, then go up to it and touch their paper ticket to it. This isn't just limited to American tourists (although one of my girlfriend's American relatives did it while he was visiting) as I've seen one person doing it with a freedom pass. -- message by Robin May, but you can call me Mr Smith. ... http://www.theoystercard.co.uk/main.php I'll try the one with the bread on a bus. Get on the bus, take a munch out of the side without the card, put it up to the reader and take another bite after it beeps. -- To reply direct, remove NOSPAM and replace with railwaysonline For Train Information, The Latest News & Best photos around check out the Award Winning Railways Online at http://www.railwaysonline.co.uk |
