Leyton Station improvements

There are apparently some works that are going to be done at Leyton
station in preparation for the Olympics - this is the most detailed info
I can find having googled a bit:

http://www.guardian-series.co.uk/news/
wfnews/9248567.LEYTON__Station_capacity_to_double/

The detail on "Eastbound platform access" appears to be a bit vague.
Anyone know much about them?

It is a station that needs drastic improvements in capacity - every
single peak time train that comes in from Stratford causes huge
overcrowding on the staircase heading out of the station, not least
because there are insufficient gates at the top to deal with the numbers
leaving the station. What will clearly NOT be delivered is an alternative
exit at the eastern end of the platforms. I *believe* that there was once
an exit on Langthorne Road in the pre-A12 era and it should surely be
obvious that creating an exit at that end of the platforms would make a
huge difference to the exits at the western end of the station.

(It would be nice to be able to re-design and re-build access to the
station from scratch, to be honest....)

There was indeed an entrance at the eastern end, right where the
pedestrian footbridge is situated. The road to either side of the A12/
Central formation was severed due to the A12 works, and in olden days
(GER/LNER) this road was called Union Road. It had its own ticket
office, issuing tickets "Leyton (Union Road)".
