Epping Ongar Railway, LU150 event (pictures)
For the first time since it closed as an LU branch line in 1994, I
visited the EOR this week, for its LU150 celebration event. It used some of the same rolling stock as was used in the high profile steamy tunnels 150th anniversary event early this year, and the subsequent Steam on the Met event, but this time in the rather attractive Essex countryside. The line has been restored to its GER era, with no trace of its briefer LU life, but there is some authenticity in LU150 being celebrated there, as the line did run steam trains for its first decade as an LU line. Anyway, here's a few pics: http://www.flickr.com/photos/recline...7634447093514/ |

There's going to be a beer festival on that line soon.

A bit further down the hill there's this one: http://goo.gl/maps/SFerB. They had a very good sunday roast. -- jhk |
