More expensive than what? I did a comparison a year or two ago between
Oxford and Cambridge. In both cases fares to London are set by First group
companies. The London Terminals Day Returns were the same, the extra for a
travelcard was twice as much from Cambridge as from Oxford. I've not checked
this year's fares but I doubt they differ much.

More expensive than what?

What Neil is looking for is an outboundary travelcard that's more
expensive than buying a return to London Terminals, plus a Travelcard
from London terminals (or maybe today, an Oyster cap from London
terminals).

Although that's not always what the customer is looking for. Many
organisations will reimburse an Outboundary Travelcard, but not an
Oyster-cap (because evidence for the latter is harder).

My experience of large prestigious websites is that approval to
retrospectively change anything requires a persistent champion.
(Different rules may apply to people posting brand new press
releases etc).

That still doesn't compares that well with £1 more on WAGN in 2001 but
better than now where off-peak the day return is £20.60 and the travelcard
addon is £4.20 (GA-only). on a £23.70 any permitted off-peak the day return
it is £7.20. The Oyster off-peak cap is £7.00.

The Oxford equivalents are £24.20 with a £4.50 addon for the travelcard. So
no longer double but only Cambridge has addons above the cap.
