It seems the intellectual powerhouse masquarading as a naive wet 70s throwback
has suggested women only carraiges would be a good idea. http://www.theguardian.com/politics/...arriages-a-pos sibility-under-jeremy-corbyn Aside from the obvious problems with enforcing it, I'd love to know how this towering genius suggests this would take place on the walk through trains that are becoming more and more popular such as LU S Stock and 378s. -- Spud |

He'll probably be suggesting women only trains next to overcome that problem. With a woman driver and guard ![]() |

He is going to reopen all the coal mines as well, so it will be steam engines and compartment stock again. ;-) |

He must have been watching the BBC TV programmes on trains in Mumbai. So next thing will be doors that don't shut with good handles for hanging on outside the train. Guy Gorton |

Wrong again, what JC actually wrote was this: "Some women have raised with me that a solution to the rise in assault and harassment on public transport could be to introduce women only carriages. My intention would be to make public transport safer for everyone from the train platform, to the bus stop to on the mode of transport itself. However, I would consult with women and open it up to hear their views on whether women-only carriages would be welcome." People who try to throw **** find that they end up a good deal dirtier than their targets. A more useful idea would be sober only carriages, perhaps some boffins can invent a breathalyser activated door. IIRC Tonbridge or Tunbridge Wells (or both) station still has a ladies-only waiting room. I will have a look later... |

Hmm - let's extend. Women only carriages Women shall be alcohol free Women shall have an associated male in an adjacent carriage to escort and arrange taxi at destination Women shall be modestly dressed Great idea - Sharia creeps in on little stealthy paws ... --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. https://www.avast.com/antivirus |

In the meantime, the fact he even considers it and thinks implementing it is simply down to whether a tiny minority of women want it or not shows the man is clueless. -- Spud |

From the article to which you referred: "Last year, Claire Perry, a Conservative junior transport minister said the idea of women only carriages was interesting" As in "That's an interesting idea"? I suspect politicians of all kinds say that to people with Good Ideas on a regular basis. -- Arthur Figgis Surrey, UK |
