I like some of the bistro math in there - talk of people who earn less than £200/month having to work almost two hours a day to pay for a daily commute. If these people were working daily, at minimum wage, assuming 4 working weeks of 5 days per month they would be working less than the hour fifty six minutes per day so clearly can't be commuting it (or are losing money on a daily basis). In any case, assuming minimum wage, what return journeys are these people making that cost £12? Peak rate Zone 1-6 on National rail as the salary suggest that they aren't working 5 days a week they aren't going to make any saving from a season ticket |
