Planning to meet somebody at Stansted Airport in the near future, likely
on a workday, in order to see somebody off.

Can I thus use contactless from Liverpool Street?

If not, then how far out can I go on contactless and is it worth
splitting the journey?

Last question: Is there an ETA on Contactless/Oyster to Stansted?

Not beyond Broxbourne.

Broxbourne. As Stansted Express trains don't stop there you may only be able
to split at Tottenham Hale where they all call. A day return to SSD is £2
cheaper from TOM than one from LST.

Nothing's been announced. Was there something in the East Anglia franchise
award announcements?

What was once called the London Connections map, the "London's rail and
Tube services" map, has the answer - it shows the area within which
Oyster and contactless Pay-as-you-go is available:

now "by 2018" which implies a considerable slip. Does anyone have any

e-tickets too, but buyer beware because the T&C are very
customer-hostile.

I wasn't missing something then. I thought the only Stansted-related part of
the East Anglia franchise announcement was that most Norwich-Cambridge
services will be extended there.

In what way? I didn't notice anything in particular when using m-tickets for
CBG-LST trips.

In what way?

Once the ticket has been delivered to you, storage and display is at
your risk. There's no safety net even if (for example) your phone is
lost or destroyed.

While I realise the same is true of paper tickets, they are probably
harder to lose.

I didn't notice anything in particular when using m-tickets for
CBG-LST trips.
