No trains H&C?
The following currently (1150) appears on the TfL real time website:
The Hammersmith & City Line has no service between Hammersmith H&C Station and Edgware Road Station in both directions. This will affect journeys from 05:31 on 12/07/04 until further notice. This is due to police request at Westbourne Park Station. Message Received: 12/7/2004 5:31:26 AM Is this true? If so does anyone know what the problem is and, given that this would seem to be effective from the start of traffic, are there any H&C trains in service at all, as most are stabled at Hammersmith? |

Service restored at 14:59. I can only assume that a serious crime was committed at Westbourne Park during the night, and that the police needed to collect forensic evidence on or near the tracks. Over 9 hours seems excessive, though. Presumably there were enough trains berthed in stabling sidings such as Edgware Road to run the service on the rest of the line. -- Richard J. Presumably there were enough trains berthed in stabling sidings such as Edgware Road to run the service on the rest of the line. Several trains start from Barking, Farringdon and Triangle (Earl's Court) sidings to enable a full circle line and limited service to Whitechapel. There was also a signal failure on the District and person ill on a train at Liverpool Street. Glad I'm on leave! |

There was an item on BBC London tonight about a murder investigation in Westbourne Park, body was found quite near to the railway. |
