The Spring issue of Tube magazine dropped through my door this morning,
with the following on page 39: "If you use an Oyster Pre Pay, you'll get even more value for money thanks to its new feature - capping. Due to start in March, customers who make a number of Pre Pay trips ... blah" Oystercard.com doesn't seem to mention it and the FAQ entry regarding capping in the support section still says: "We are looking at ‘capping’ the maximum amount you will pay in any one day but have no firm details or a planned introduction date at present." -- Ashley Brown |

I hope that magazine is right, or there'll be some hell to pay... Of course, implementing it is one thing, but implementing it properly will also be a challenge, I'm sure... -- Dave Arquati Imperial College, SW7 www.alwaystouchout.com - Transport projects in London |

buses from March or whenever the peak pricing come in... Not that I saw - I'm holding on to my 70p saver tickets for use during the peaks. |

Capping was announced on BBC Local News this morning as starting at the end of this month. Still no info on the TfL sites about it though. |

Also at http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/4251793.stm although they don't say what their source is, just a "We are delighted" quote from the LTUC. I'll believe it when I see it... Pete. (still miffed that they got rid of weekend travelcards) |

Although I do notice that the TfL site has had a slight design alteration, with a useful quick version of the journey planner on the front page. Incidentally, 27 February is the official start date for peak bus fares (although obviously they won't start properly until the following day as 27 Feb is a Sunday). Introducing capping on the same day will ease the pain of higher bus fares for some. -- Dave Arquati Imperial College, SW7 www.alwaystouchout.com - Transport projects in London |

And apparently going to http://journeyplanner.tfl.gov.uk/ now gets you to a useful page too--I remember it used to be a "doorway" page where you would have to click somewhere and THEN enter your route information. Ugh. -- Michael Hoffman |

Which is why an *awful* lot of training is going on inside LUL (and presumably elsewhere) to get things across to passengers. Why publicise capping if the staff haven't yet been fully trained?
