What was the engineering work that over ran by 3 hours this morning.
Seems an opportune time for this to happen now that TfL are proposing a 7.30 start for services on Saturdays. It won't be even worth opening London on Sunday. Kevin |

I dunno but some engineering work overran on the District line too.
And there were several signal failures and a broken train on the Jubilee line. Not too good today! -- Chris |

Points work at Seven Sisters which meant nothing could get down from the
depot. Essential safety related stuff. wrote in message oups.com... I dunno but some engineering work overran on the District line too. And there were several signal failures and a broken train on the Jubilee line. Not too good today! -- Chris |

So was the whole line out of use or just Kings Cross to Walthemstow. I
heard two different announcements. I went to Vauxhall via Waterloo. Kevin |

The whole line was closed. I had to get 3 buses to work. The District and Picc work was at Acton Town and was a replacement of some points that overran. It has not been a good week at all. From what I keep hearing from my lab partner, it sounds like the District line has been a complete balls-up all week. I only travel on the Underground a couple of times a week outside rush hours, but I got quite intimate with some fellow passengers on the Jubilee line the other day; I was quite impressed how many people you can fit on those trains when you *really* try... -- Dave Arquati Imperial College, SW7 www.alwaystouchout.com - Transport projects in London |

The District was thoroughly wrecked by the overrun at Acton and the TSR at West Ham, as well as the bustage at Edgware Road; things got so bad that I saw a Wimbleware service terminated at platform 4 at HSK, to allow a Circle service to run onward. More fun was had at White City WB, as we jerkily followed a train into the platform. Those absent points must be missed at Wood Lane... |

Kevin Well, since all trains but 2 are serviced north of King's Cross, I doubt there was any service at all There are 4 trains outstabled at night, 2 at Brixton and 2 at Walthamstow. Drivers book on point is Seven Sisters. It would not be safe to run a 4 train service because of the sheer numbers that use the Vic line, hence no service until the PPP partners had finished and trains could be bought into service form Northumberland Park depot. It would be interesting to compare late finish delays before and after PPP. And the first person to say there weren't any before because no work was done wasn't paying attention and stays behind for detention. Mal |
