I went to Vauxhall via Waterloo. The whole line was closed. I had to get 3 buses to work. The District and Picc work was at Acton Town and was a replacement of some points that overran. Thankfully I was travelling into town after the morning peak. When I got to East Putney there was a sign advising at least 15-20 minute gaps between each train (and there was one just leaving as I battled my way up the stairs sigh) |

It wasn't bad to be honest because I went out the door knowing that there were problems on the Vic and Picc. I simply dashed up the road (at 06.40), got the earlier 123 to Seven Sisters, then a 73 fresh into service and then a 24 at TCR. It took 1 hour 25 mins as the journey was a bit slow. On a good day, when I sometimes opt to take the bus, it takes an hour which I don't think is too bad to be honest. I accept I started early and it would have been utterly awful for those travelling after 8am. -- Paul C Admits to working for London Underground! |
