I could wish the seats had more padding, though..... -- "Mrs Redboots" http://www.amsmyth.demon.co.uk/ Website updated 3 April 2005 |

Funny thing is I was on a regular 465 with blue light panels yesterday. I thought that might have been the refurbishing :-) I notice they've done away with the internal glass panels by the doors. That'll save some money on replacements. |

Interesting; seems like they've tried to create a 3x2 version of a 365 but made it look a lot more pedestrian. Is that the lurid 376-style blue/yellow lino I see on the floor in standard class even? Doesn't seem very adventurous or very warm, but a big improvement on the usual state of a 465. Seems a shame to have stuck with the dull grey/blue seat fabric as used on some of their other units compared to other operators more colourful/interesting approaches. Surely SET or their successors will come under pressure to refurbish all 465s to this standard (perhaps minus first class). Will they get away with condemning "inner suburban" users to merely "reinstated" (rather than "refreshed") units? I have seem some of the "reinstated" units around - same old BR blue seat covers but re-painted beige surfaces and film on the windows; big deal. Considering the intensity of use of these units, and the level of abuse they get, this refurb was well overdue. Roll on the rest of the 465s! Nick |
