Thameslink 'BOX'
Went through the tunnel today and passed through the big box. Interesting to
see whats going on. Nothing really. There are lights on so you can see the interior walls and other bits and pieces. Also daylight through a few large holes. Dont panic, they look engineered. Looks like a spur going off to St Pancras....but i'm sure there isn't...anyone know? Then we have the stop at Kentish town for a staff member to get off and 100 people at Kentish town trying to get on. Pushing the buttons to no avail getting frustrated. This seems a very silly idea. Can only lead to problems for staff from people who can't understand why they cant get on. Should have seen the poor lot tonight standing in the rain........There is plenty of time to make it a stop, but then i'm a customer and i think the management see it different to us travellers. Mal The box is there and there are a few access shafts plus the stairs ready for final. Either side of the track is a plywood hoarding to allow the construction work to continue. Not a lot else to see except that the track is a concrete slab with Pandrol vanguard (IIRC) fixings. P.S. were the tunnel lights on when you went through? -- John Alexander, |
