Recharge Oyster card from US??
Hi All,
So, I got an Oyster card on my latest trip to London, and loved it. It's so convenient. I did register it. I'll be back, passing through, in early August, and would like to add some Pre Pay value in advance for use then. But, apparently, I have no idea what the answer to the "Security Question" on the registration form is. Is there any way to get an online account without that information? And even when I get in, will they accept US-based credit card details? 73, doug |

Yes any credit card would be accepted. You should note that you have to pass through the barriers of a station you specify during the seven days after you top up online or the Oyster will not be updated and the money will be refunded to your credit card. In other words you need to top up the day before you leave the US and nominate the first station you are going to pass through. |

No. But its probably your mother's maiden name. It turns out that wasn't it, but I did figure it out, trying many different combinations. That'll teach me to fill out a form when just off a 12 hour flight. And even when I get in, will they accept US-based credit card details? Yes any credit card would be accepted. Thanks. So, I have notes with my Oyster card, and will set up the top up at Heathrow just before I leave. 73, doug If only the SF Bay Area had the equivalent working! Some day, the Translink card may work as well, but who knows when that'll be. |

And I'd trade less top speed for more frequency, even on BART, thank you. 73, doug |

No. But its probably your mother's maiden name. There was a question about this on the application form, and various suggestions (I think) about what you might want to use as a reminder. It's possible the OP thought about mmn, or he might have chosen one of the other categories. -- Roland Perry |
