London bombs - what to make of the 'power surge' claim?
 

Hi guys

It is likely that a bomb explosion will cause a problem with traction
supplies (even if only because temporary short circuits are likely).
Today's info that the three bombs all exploded within 50 seconds of each
other means that the detection of these would have been the first indication
of a problem. All three so close together makes the possibility of an
unexplained surge more understandable even if unlikely as events emerged.

The media have always been quick to take up an explanation, but slow to drop
it.

I think that you are.

Although there was a lady on ITV this morning claiming exactly that: it
was a deliberate cover story to avoid spreading panic.
