We don't have trucks in the UK, only lorries.

"Truck", meaning lorry has been in common usage for around 30 years in
British English.

I don't know why it took over from lorry, although the change took place
among the population in general, rather than among those who drive or
operate them.

There's nothing wrong with the word as a description- it is derived from the
Greek "Trokhos", meaning "Wheel"

A man's vehicle is a symbol of his manhood.
That's why my vehicle's the Piccadilly Line -
It's the size of a county and it comes every two and a half minutes

We also have EEC Regulations 3820/85 (drivers hours) and 3821/85
(tachographs)to comply with, but I suppose the Yank trucker who started
this thread wouldn't have had the intelligence to realise that(being a
Yank is what makes me think he's thick by the way, not the fact he's a
trucker!).

No, racist is when somebody is picked on because of their 'race'. It's in
the name if you look carefully. 'Yank' isn't a race.

Stereotypist, maybe. Or statistician ;-)

What you need seems to be a tranquilizer... any type... Or to remove
the diving apparatus from the head...
Why do not try it?
