What about the Londoners who can't get the benefits because their rail services are provide by NR yet they still pay the council tax? You tell me. Not even TfL or NR seem to know how the validators on the Thameslink platforms at London Bridge, Kings Cross TL etc. are supposed to be used without getting an unresolved journey so "totally" and "everyone" is pretty fair. Also when changing from DLR to Tube or National Rail, it is not clear to many people that you have to touch the DLR validator and then touch in to the tube/NR even though its not the end/start of your journey. Getting it wrong will mean getting charged twice or possibly £5 if you were unlucky enough to start or end at a terminus. This could all be cured by more detailed instructions above the validators. The current "Prepay users must touch here" is not good enough - and doesn't take in to account prepay extensions. Season ticket holders who have only ever used seasons are unlikely to see themselves as "prepay users". |

This discount does not apply to oyster period travel cards. You know where you can stick yer oyser Ken! Not true. Where season tickets are available on Oyster from National Rail stations (e.g. c2c/SWT etc.) they are sold on the same basis and with the same benefits. So if you were to buy a ticket from Wimbledon on your Oyster card you would receive a National Rail discount if due as well? Would this apply to travelcards (say Zone 1-3) as well as season tickets (Wimbledon to Waterloo) and do they have to be any minimum legth (weekly/monthly etc) Are these National Rail % discounts listed anywhere? ![]() "Paul" Paul @whydoyoucare.co.uk wrote in message ... Tube and bus fares in London paid for with cash are set to increase next year, the Mayor has announced. A single Tube journey in zone one will cost £3 instead of £2 while a single bus journey will rise from £1.20 to £1.50, said Mayor Ken Livingstone. However fares will fall for holders of the Oyster pre-pay smartcards. With Oyster, a zone one Tube ride will be cut from £1.70 to £1.50 - half the cash fare. Mr Livingstone said the aim was for fewer people to pay with cash. Does anyone have any news on what is happening to weekly/monthly travelcard prices? Am just wondering if they will be going down to reflect the reductions in Oyster pre-pay or not.. Regards Sunil |

You can't buy Wimbledon to Waterloo season tickets on Oyster only zonal ones. The £1,000 annual Wimbledon to Z123 comes with a 5% discount if you renew at Wimbledon. Here you can see how much you can get off the price: http://www.trainsfares.co.uk/season/...p?sitecode=SWT It only tells you the discount right before entering payment details - not when it initially lists the ticket prices. |
